Service terms

These terms cover the GrowLeafy Brain LIOS service and the software licence that comes with it. They are written to be read, so where a term has not been decided yet, this page says that rather than filling the gap with something that sounds standard.

The service and the software licence

GrowLeafy Brain LIOS is a GrowLeafy product. The service is the GrowLeafy side of it: your GrowLeafy ID, your entitlements, activation of your devices, delivery of signed releases and support for what you own.

The software is licensed to you, not sold to you. What you may run, on how many devices, and for how long, is set by the licence and device policy recorded against your entitlement. You may use the software within that licence; you may not redistribute it or present it as your own.

AI output is assistance, not advice

Output produced by an AI model is assistance. It can be wrong, incomplete or confidently mistaken, and it does not know your circumstances unless it has been given them.

The person who relies on the output is the person who must review it. This is true of every use, and it is stated here explicitly for the two cases where being wrong costs the most:

  • For finance, output is not financial advice and must be reviewed by a qualified person before any decision or filing is based on it.
  • For legal use, output is not legal advice and must be reviewed by a qualified person before it is relied on or filed with anyone.

Reviewing the output is the responsibility of whoever relies on it. Any specific allocation of liability between you and GrowLeafy is a term that is not yet published on this page - see the section below.

Third-party software

LIOS can work with third-party software that you already have. That software remains licensed by its own vendor, under that vendor's terms, and GrowLeafy neither redistributes it nor grants you any rights to it.

Your own entitlement and licence with that vendor is what governs your use of it. Nothing in your GrowLeafy entitlement transfers, extends or substitutes for it.

Acceptable use

Use LIOS for work you are entitled to do. Do not use it against systems you do not own or administer without authority, do not use it to bypass licensing, access controls or the rights of others, and do not use it to break the law in the place where you are.

A capability is a bounded permission, not a general licence to act. Using a granted capability outside its purpose is a breach of these terms and can be revoked.

What a capability is, and what grants it

A capability is granted by an entitlement, and an entitlement is issued for a specific licensed version of a product. Ownership is held by the account, not by a device, which is why you can activate the capability on a device, revoke that device, and still own what you bought.

An entitlement is created from a verified payment. An order that has not been verified as paid grants nothing, whatever any page in a browser happens to display.

Refunds

Refunds and how to request one are described on the refund page. That page states the current position honestly, including anything that is not yet published.

A refund is not the same as deleting a purchase: it is handled through GrowLeafy support and it revokes the entitlement that was refunded.

Privacy

What is processed locally, what GrowLeafy collects and what the customer data boundary is are described on the privacy page. That page is part of these terms by reference.

Enterprise terms

Enterprise and organisational use is handled by agreement. Where an organisation buys LIOS for its staff, the terms of that agreement govern the organisation's deployment, including isolation of its data and identities.

For an enterprise arrangement, contact GrowLeafy so the terms can be agreed in writing rather than inferred from this page.

Terms not published on this page yet

A terms page normally contains the following. These specific terms have not been decided and published, so this page states that plainly rather than inventing a value.

  • Governing law and jurisdiction: the specific term is not yet published on this page. No jurisdiction is claimed here, and none should be assumed from anything else on this site.
  • Company registration and statutory identification details: the specific term is not yet published on this page.
  • Notice period for changes to these terms: the specific term is not yet published on this page. No notice period is stated, and none should be assumed.
  • Any limitation of liability: no figure and no cap is stated on this page. The specific term is not yet published.

Each of these must be added before this page is relied upon as a complete agreement. If you need any of them for a decision you are making now, ask GrowLeafy support rather than treating this page as if the term were settled.
