Installing GrowLeafy Brain LIOS

Five stages, in this order. Registration is what ties a machine to your GrowLeafy ID, and activation is what unlocks the capabilities you own.

This page describes the installation flow, not a step-by-step script. The exact steps for your platform are shown on the download page once a verified build exists for it. No file name, no installer screen and no operating-system dialog is claimed on this page, because inventing them would describe a build that may not be the one you were given.

The five stages

Each stage has one job. If a stage cannot complete, stop there rather than working around it.

  1. Download the authorised build

    A download is authorised for your GrowLeafy ID, so sign in first and take the build from your own account. The link you are given is signed and short-lived: it expires on purpose, and a link shared with someone else does not give them anything you own. Nothing is offered for a platform that is not built yet, so if the download page shows no build, there is no build to install.

  2. Verify the SHA-256 shown on the download page

    The download page prints the SHA-256 recorded for the exact build you were offered. Compare it with the file you received before you run anything. A match means the file is the one GrowLeafy published; a mismatch means the file is not that build, and it should not be run.

  3. Sign in with your GrowLeafy ID

    There is no separate LIOS account. Sign-in is the same GrowLeafy ID you use everywhere else in GrowLeafy, and it is what tells the server which capabilities are yours. If you are not signed in, the build cannot be authorised, and the client has nothing to activate against.

  4. Let the device register

    Registration creates a device key on your machine, and GrowLeafy issues a certificate for that device. Your private key never leaves your computer: it is generated locally and is not sent to GrowLeafy, which is why a stolen account alone cannot become a working installation on someone else's machine. A device that registers takes a device slot on your account, and that slot can be released later from your devices.

  5. Activate the capabilities you own

    Activation is per capability, not per installation. What your GrowLeafy ID owns is what can be activated; anything else stays locked, and the client is not the thing that decides either way. The free layer needs no purchase and does not expire.

If something goes wrong

Most install problems are one of four things, and all four are readable from your account.

  • The platform is not built yet, so there is no build to install. Check the compatibility page before assuming a fault.
  • The build file is not on the server, so the download page refuses instead of handing you a broken link. Try again later; nothing has been charged for it.
  • You are not signed in, or the device slot is used up. Release a device from your devices without losing any files on it.
  • The capability is not activated for that machine, so it stays locked. Activation is per device, and it follows the account that owns the capability.

If none of those fit, the support team handles activation and device problems, and can read what happened on the server side rather than guessing from a screenshot. Revoking a device is safe: it withdraws the authorisation, it does not delete anything on your computer.
